The Kashif Iqbal Thalassemia Care Centre (KITCC) is a non-governmental organization based in Karachi, Pakistan, dedicated to treating and supporting Thalassemia Major patients. Since 1996, KITCC has been working to raise awareness about thalassemia across Pakistan with the goal of eradicating the disease. Registered under the SINDH TRUST ACT 2020, KITCC holds several certifications from SINDH HEALTH CARE COMMISSION, ISO 9001:2015, THALASSEMIA FEDERATION PAKISTAN, THALASSEMIA INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION, SINDH BLOOD TRANSFUSION AUTHORITY AND PAKISTAN CENTRE FOR PHILANTHROPY, RIQAS SINDH FOOD AUTHORITY, SINDH CHAIRTY COMMISSION, ECONOMIC AFFAEIRS DISION AND DRUG REGULATORY AUTHORITY reflecting its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care and management. Thalassemia patients require blood transfusions every 15 days, along with iron chelation therapy for their survival. Currently, KITCC provides a vital lifeline to 1,023 registered Thalassemia Major patients by offering 17,000 free blood transfusions annually. This critical service ensures patients receive the essential care and treatment needed to manage their condition effectively.
