Jinnah University for Women- the first Women University of Pakistan is a brainchild of Al Haj Moulvi Reyazuddin Ahmed, Tamgha –e- Imtaiz, who established more than 17 educational institutions in Karachi. He strongly believed that education for girls and
women has a strong impact on sustainable economic development and elimination of poverty. The name Jinnah of the University has the background that Mohammad Ali
Jinnah, Founder of Pakistan, gave permission to Al Haj Moulvi Reyazuddin Ahmed, through a letter to use his name for the intended girls college in Agra, thereafter asked by
Jinnah Sahab to establish the same in Pakistan with his name. This is an
honor for us and for those who are working and studying here. Further,
since inception and now after more than two decades, this University has
progressed in all directions.
Jinnah University for Women has been imparting education in more than 28 disciplines under four faculties, that is, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Faculty of Business Administration, Economics and Commerce for more than two decades. degrees in various disciplines. More than 300 qualified and dedicated female faculty members are currently engaged in teaching and research activities with 8000 students.
