This spice trading business was established by Poei Tjen Hwa(Budi Harto’s grandfather) in the year of 1948. The Old Name was Toko Mulia with office address at Slompretan 78, Surabaya, Indonesia and Kapas Krampung 135, Surabaya, Indonesia. Poei Tjen Hwa passed away in the year of 1982. Tjokro Pudjiono (Budi Harto’s father) became the successor and continued the business with the name of Star Laboratories. Budi Harto was graduated from USA and come back to Indonesia to help the spice business in the year of 2002. Tjokro Pudjiono retired in the year of 2006 and Budi Harto become the Director of Star Laboratories. Star Laboratories target market are 90% export market and 10% local market for many type of spices such as: Clove, Clove Stem, Cassia Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Mace, Ginger, Curcuma, Galangal, Turmeric, Cardamom, Black pepper, White pepper, Long Pepper, Gum Copal/ Gum Damar, and other agriculture products. Star Laboratories is a member of Chamber of Commerce Indonesia. Ex-Minister of Industrial and Trade; Mr. Tungki Ariwibowo was met with Star Laboratories’ previous owner Tjokro Pudjiono in the year of 1997. Tjokro Pudjiono also attended the Mr. Tungki Ariwibowo funeral in the year of 2007. The current owner of Star Laboratories is Budi Harto. By the help of KBRI/ Indonesia Embassy associates, Budi Harto met with current Minister of Industrial and Trade, Mr. Enggartiasto Lukita in the year of 2016 in Jakarta.
